Machined Table with Central Hole and Four-Column Guidance The press table is precisely machined to ensure perfect parallelism, unlike many other presses that use beams or lateral iron structures, which can compromise accuracy. The PV21 press uses four 55 mm chrome-plated columns for guidance, maintaining side stability. A 40 mm (1.57”) hole in the center allows for direct hot punching on the table without additional bottom tooling, and an internal box collects any material fragments.

Vertical Drop Mechanism Unlike presses that operate upwards, requiring operators to move their arms up and down, the PV21 forging press drops vertically. This design keeps the workpiece secure on the bottom table, simplifying and speeding up the hot forging process.

Manual and Automatic Operation Modes In manual mode, the press operates only when the pedal is pressed, holding its position when the pedal is released. This mode is ideal for delicate tasks or centering custom molds. In automatic mode, the press moves to the lower limit switch or until the pedal is released, then returns to the top limit switch. Continuous pressing of the pedal causes repetitive movement between the limit switches, which can be adjusted for specific tasks, enhancing productivity.

Adjustable Top and Bottom Limit Switches Many modern presses lack limit switches, requiring constant hand operation. The PV21 press addresses this with two adjustable limit switches. The top switch sets the upper position for optimal productivity, while the bottom switch controls the final press position. With a repeatability of less than 0.03 mm (0.0001”), the PV21 is highly accurate, making it ideal for producing Damask knives and swords.

Versatility The large work table and 250 mm x 296 mm (10” x 10.2”) opening allow for simultaneous use of two molds, useful for making knives, swords, and other forged items. Molds are self-centering for easy positioning and can be switched in under 60 seconds. Tooling can be fixed horizontally or vertically, and the table’s hole design allows for 90º rotation of molds, beneficial for forging large items.

Custom Mold Production There are no limits to the types of jobs that can be done, often requiring custom molds to save time and money. Prada Nargesa provides two additional sets of self-centering plates for welding or screwing on custom molds.

Safety and CE Compliance The PV21 features a safety pedal with a fold-down tongue to prevent accidental starts, and adjustable front and back protective devices to reduce the risk of fragment impact while maintaining visibility. An emergency stop button and other safety mechanisms ensure compliance with EC machinery standards. Many presses on the market do not meet these regulations, but the PV21 prioritizes operator safety.
